The liberal pro-EU elite in this country seems to be on the march once again, blaming everything on Brexit. It is clear that rather than a full rejoin, which has little chance of success, the Remoaners are now pushing for complete alignment with the EU and its rules.
It doesn’t help that the opposition leader is a full-on advocate for another referendum to go back into the EU. The Labour leader states that there isn’t an appetite for another referendum but doesn’t fully and completely rule it out.
History tells us what politicians say before an election is different from what they say post-election. If Britain is to rid of the remoaning, the government needs to step up, demolish EU red tape, and reopen Britain as Great Britain and not an EU satellite state.
As Winston Churchill once said: “We have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not combined. We are interested and associated but not absorbed. If Britain must choose between Europe and the open sea, she must always choose the open sea.”
