During a heated exchange in Parliament over the contents of the Sue Gray report, Boris Johnson finally explained what happened in the photos that were published in the media.
Mr Johnson said that, as a leader, he wanted to wish his former political aide Lee Cain well and thank him for his work during the lockdown. Mr Johnson went on to say that after giving a few words, he left and had no further knowledge of the proceedings of the nights events.
The PM did say that he was “surprised and disappointed as anyone else in this House” over the revelations contained in the report.
