People in the streets of London were outraged by campaigners’ allegations that the Union Jack was “racist,” after a controversy developed over a display of flags on Regent Street this week.
As a tribute to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, a display of Union flags was likened to Nazi Germany by some social media users. Femi Oluwole, a Remainer campaigner, launched a scathing assault on Regent Street’s Union flags, alleging they symbolise “blatant fascism.”
Patrick Christys, anchor of GB News, went on the streets of Britain yesterday to talk to people about their thoughts on the flag and the controversy that has surrounded it this week.
According to one elderly lady, she had had enough of the doubters, saying: “Oh, get a life!
“These people should have more serious things to worry about, it’s awful.
“They have just got to knock things down, things that have been working very well.”
