Tory MP Peter Bone clashed with the head of a migrant charity who is taking the UK government to court, trying to block the deportation of Channel migrants with failed asylum claims.
During the debate on Politics Live, Peter Bone stated: “It’s absolutely right to take the case to courts. And if the courts say the legislation is wrong, then we need to change the law so it can happen. So I have no problem with you taking it to court.”
“I hope the courts throw out what you’re saying, because I want to see these people smugglers stopped. But if there isn’t, we need to change the law change any of the conventions that stop us doing it. That’s what’s parliament for parliament should make the laws, not courts.”
