Postcode Lottery close their phone lines after massive backlash from subscribers over their involvement with the Rwanda deportation row.

One of the charities that are being funded by the Postcode lottery is Helen Bamber Foundation who has currently been given to date £1,475,000.

When you follow the link to the Helen Bamber Foundation social media on Twitter, their latest posts says: “Our partner organisation, @AsylumAid has issued urgent legal action against the Home Office today, to prevent the removals of asylum-seekers to Rwanda. To support this vital legal action”

Due to this revelation, the Postcode Lottery have announced on Twitter that they have closed their phone lines for today and will be opening again tomorrow morning from 9am.

This deliberate shutdown of the phone lines is clearly to prevent their subscribers from ripping up their subscription after finding out about who the company has been giving money to.

The reaction from customers below their post gives a clear indication that the company is going to see a massive loss of support from this revelation with cancelled subscriptions.

One of their customers said: “Cancelling my tickets today, seriously disgusted at you supporting economic migrants.Perhaps when you’ve felt the effects of it, you might think differently.”

Another wrote: “I wonder why? Frightened of the backlash from the public about your monetary support to stop deportations of illegal immigrants?”

Following this backlash, it was also revealed that Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream is also promoting and actively urging people to stop the deportations by attending protests outside the Home Office and Gatwick Airport. Again, many people are boycotting their products.
