A local Tory MP reacted after a large number of asylum seekers, some of whom had crossed the English Channel illegally and were housed in Stoke on Trent. An MP for Stoke on Trent said that the number has risen to the point that one in thirty residents of the city was born in a country other than the United Kingdom.
