According to The Sun on Sunday, the Brexiteer met with angry Red Wall Tories as he plans his political return.
According to the publication, the former leader of UKIP has been “testing the water” with northern MPs who are unhappy with Rishi Sunak’s direction.
According to a Westminster source, “Nigel Farage has been reaching out to the disgruntled lot.
“He has been having meetings with Red Wall Tories about the Reform Party to test the water.
“It comes as Reform UK, formerly the Brexit Party, looks to target a number of northern English seats at the next General Election.
Both Jonathan Gullis of the Tories and Ed Miliband of the Labour Party would be targets for the Farage-founded party.
In his strongest political intervention in years this week, Farage encouraged Brexit supporters to turn away from the Conservatives and support his own Reform UK at the next election.
On Sunday, Farage told The Sun that he had spoken with a number of Tory lawmakers. “there are a lot of very, very disillusioned Conservatives”.
According to the publication, 5000 people—many of them former Tories—joined the Brexiteers’ party this month.
