As the Tories attempt to make a token dog whistle gesture to Brexiteers on Twitter by claiming “We got Brexit done” and that they are “seizing its opportunities,” we all know that this is far from the truth.
The Conservatives seem to have dragged their feet since we left the EU three years ago, making sure minimal opportunities from Brexit have been implemented.
After giving the EU the lion’s share of the fish in our seas and continuing to let EU factory ships destroy the ecosystem in our waters, our fisheries and communities have been decimated.
Northern Ireland remains under EU control to appease EU bureaucrats, while the UK government claims everything is fine. To please Brussels, the Tories have destroyed the act of union.
Our southern Border remains wide open for all those who seek to climb into a dinghy and cross the Channel into the UK.
Our border force even meets the French Navy halfway to collect illegal migrants, who are then brought to Britain and kept at taxpayer expense.
Brexit, (taking back control) was meant to stop this, and so far absolutely nothing has changed under the Tories, yet they continue to spout that we are seizing the Brexit opportunities.
While the Tories remain effortless towards implementing the opportunities that Brexit brings, this has now fuelled the remoaners to claim Brexit has destroyed this country (UK).
This is a false claim and a lie. If Brexit hasn’t been fully implemented (which it hasn’t), then how could Brexit have damaged this country to the extent they (remainers) claim.
The devastation to the economy is solely the responsibility of those in charge who refuse to implement Brexit; instead, the problems are caused by treating leaving the EU as a damage limitation project rather than one seeking opportunities for the betterment of Britain.
Isn’t it about time we rid of those who say, and never do, for those who want to see Britain prosper?
