Today, Sadiq Khan held a cost of living crisis meeting in London alongside Martin Lewis. One of the main concerns of the onlookers was the ULEZ expansion zone, where people in the poorest areas of London within the M25 will have to pay £12.50 a day if they want to drive their car once Sadiq Khan’s scheme is launched.
There will be an extra congestion charge of £15 per day for all those who want to drive in the centre of London.
During the meeting, one of the audience members stood up and walked out, voicing her opinion of the London mayor as she exited the building.
Just as the lady headed to the door, she shouted, “You’re a conman,” to Sadiq Khan. Outside the event, ITV London interviewed the lady, who goes by the name of Angie Donnelly, who said Mr Khan’s ULEZ plans will directly affect those who cannot afford to feed or clothe their kids. How is this right during a cost of living crisis?
