On Twitter today, John Redwood has been releasing a lot of bombshells. Sunak has come under fire from the Tory MP for his stance on the Northern Ireland Protocol.
The Unionists, who want Northern Ireland to be free from EU rule, will find this absolutely intolerable since all current indications indicate that the UK Government would continue to preserve the EU courts as the ultimate arbitrator on disputes.
On Northern Ireland, John Redwood MP said: “Giving in to the EU on trade with a border between GB and Northern Ireland would not solve the constitutional issues which led to the collapse of power sharing. Unionists do not want the EU making their laws and judging disputes.” (Tweet 1)
Tweet 2 said: “The EU needs to stop imposing its laws and its court on Northern Ireland if it wants a deal on trade. The EU has undermined the Good Friday Agreement and prevented Stormont meeting.”
Tweet 3 said: “Why were the Unionist parties in Northern Ireland barred from the talks with the EU and not told of possible concessions they would be expected to make?”
I believe the whole objective from both the EU and the UK is to see Ireland united, that would end the protocol, and free the UK, the EU would have nothing left to blackmail us , then an Irish referendum on an alliance, with either the EU, or the UK.
